Who Is Jesus?
This is the Big Question and having this conversation is why we do everything that we do. This question crosses the heart of lips of every person at one time or another. Whether you were raised in the church, raised in relationship with Jesus or you were raised not believing or without any idea of who Jesus was you will one-day come face to face with this question about who is God and how does the life of Jesus impact me.
The questions asked about God are endless: “Is God real?” “Is what we know about Him really true?” and “what does He have to do with my life?” just to list a few.
The Bible often leads us to more questions on our search, but one of the areas in which the Bible is quite definite, is the answer to the question: who is Jesus?
The Word (Jesus) was first, the Word present to God,
God present to the Word. The Word was God,
in readiness for God from day one. Everything was created through him;
nothing—not one thing!— came into being without him.
What came into existence was Life, and
the Life was Light to live by.
The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out. -John 1
Jesus tells us that we need to be born again in Spirit by calling Jesus as lord and surrendering our lives to Him. Jesus is the The Answer, The Truth, The Way and The Light, Our Prince of Peace, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Lion of Judah and hope of the world,
Jesus is fully God and Fully human. He is never distant and promises He will be with us always. He is always with us. We do not have to fully understand Him to fully put our faith in God as the Savior of our lives and of the world.
For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift so now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life – John 3:16
So does Jesus care about you? Yes He does!
How do we know this?
Often we disqualify ourselves from God’s love because of our history, our failures and shortcomings. Sin has separated us from God and we can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. So how can we accept what we have not earned? The Bible says that nothing in all of creation can separate us from the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. And to accept God’s love is to trust His patient, forgiving and gracious stance towards us. Only He has the power to free us from guilt, shame and condemnation to give us a life of wholeness. All we have to do is turn to Him.
Your New Beginning…
People use the term “saved” What does that mean. To be saved is to be made whole by submitting to God and His plan and purpose for our lives. It is as simple as turning to Jesus, to ask Him for forgiveness from our sins and to give us new life in Him. THe power of this simple act changes everything for eternity as you will have your place saved with your father in Heaven.
He replaces our old life with a new one.
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10
Salvation is God’s free gift to us and we become His children. It settles us in our place in GOd’s family to spend Eternity with God in heaven while changing your life on earth forever as you fully experience God’s grace and mercy.
You can be free to live a truly full life.
If you are not sure whether you are right with God or you know in fact that you need Jesus in your life, you can choose to follow Him right now by praying a prayer of surrender to Jesus.
This simple prayer can change your life.
Dear Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God and I’m praying this prayer because I know that I was never meant to live without you. I am sorry and I trust that You will forgive me. I accept Your love and grace for me and ask that You would be my Lord. Help me believe in You and love You every day, and help me to show the world what You are like and how great Your love is.
In Jesus Name. Amen.
